© Highover, a place for all seasons
There is lots to do at Highover... or simply relax, listen to the birds and bees and let our pristine wilderness restore your sense of being. Depending on the level of the river, we outsource river rafting, so booking ahead is essential for this. We also offer river tubing and Foofie sliding,  only under adult supervision and only when the river is at a safe level. Fishing is a big attraction, during the winter months the Natal Yellowfish, or Scalie is a popular angling fish to be caught. Birding; Highover has over 250 species of birds, including our Cape Vultures and highly Vulnerable Blue Swallows, which return each Spring to breed on top of our mountain Hella Hella. Our nature trails, for walking or mountain biking, offer majestic views from river gulleys, to the steep climb up the Soada River to reach the Soada Falls. The Soada Falls trail is an 18km round trip and only for the fit. There is the Nkonka trail as well as the Big Rock trail. All along these trails you are sure to spot Impala, Zebra, Mountain Reedbuck, Blesbuck, Nyala and so much more. Our butterflies are a sight to see as well as our indigenous Aloes and other wild flowers. Our Games Room and library are under construction for those rainy days, and we have a volley ball court. We do offer team building for schools and corporates, please email us for more info on this.
